2nd Day of Presentations

Sylwester and Nicole did their presentation first. Their's was about the ERIC database, different ways to use it, and why it is helpful. I did not realize that it has over 1.2 million items in this database. ERIC will help you do research without having to go digging in the library and having a lot of books.
Tiffany and I did our presentation next.
Loren and Martha went last today and they talked about how to use Technology in Art (not talking about sculptures and painting but talking about music and theatre). Loren began talking about music and different instrumental tools. He also talked about marching band and Pyware and how it is used. I liked that because it showed us a little more about marching and it was so cool to see computer animation of the TAMU-C marching band. Martha talked more about theatre and how it is just not about the actors but behind the scenes. Lights, sound, and set design are very important to a show.
I enjoyed all presentations today! :)

1st Day of Presentation

The first presentation that was done was by Kristen and Erin. They talked mostly about how to use technology in the classroom with Word, PowerPoint, Access and more. They had some very informative sites on how to use these systems. There was one slide that I enjoyed. It was the one about cell division. I like how is showed the process of it and if you wanted you could slow it down into different parts of cell division.
Buster and Taneya did the second presentation. this was about the role of Technology in Sports. They talked about how many schools use video for highlights of the game, for scouting, editing and different ways video can be used. They touched how to use excel for stats of the game, projectors to watch video clips. My favorite part about it was the website that demonstrated football plays. It was very interesting to see how far technology has to come to where you can type in where you want different players and it shows computer images running the play.

Multimedia Project.

In our multimedia project we talked about different ways technology was used in physical education classrooms and nutrition information for kids. Tiffany was my partner and we decided to work on some ideas on our own, then we integrated our projects together. I spent quite a bit of time on it, but I know there could have been more time spent on it. I did not have a hard time finishing it, it was just frustrating at times, for example, getting links to be 'clickable' and so on. Also, it was hard to figure out how to upload the video and the music but once it was figured out, it was much easier. Tiffany and I finished it today after class, I accidentally sent is as an email then and I just dropped it in the drop box this afternoon. I feel confident about our presentation, there is a lot of information that I enjoyed on it. I enjoyed working with my partner. I feel like we got to know each other and we had fun while we were working on our project. I do not have a preference on who I work with or do not work with.

My First Blog

Hello. This is my first blog to ever do. I also have a myspace account by I have never posted a blog on there either. So I guess I will introduce myself... I am 22 years old and I am from Emory, TX. I graduated from Rains High School in 2003. From there I went to Paris Junior College where I got my associates degree. I now attend Texas A&M University at Commerce and I am a senior (I feel like I have been in school for forever). I am currently studying Kinesiology and I am going to be a school teacher one day. (Hopefully sooner than later.) I also want to a coach, softball would be my first sport to choose to coach but I would very much enjoy basketball and volleyball as well. If I had to coach something like tennis or golf, I would be a little skeptical but I would do everything I could to learn as much about it as I could. I think it would be very fun and challenging.

I guess this about wraps up my first blog... woo hoo!
